Some Preliminary Comments

In my last post, I said that I would write about how I will approach this endeavor and what sparked my interest. As to my approach, I do not intend to rewrite all the information that I find. I will sort through the information for what I deem is reliable, simple, and practical. Remember, this is my journey so what may be of interest to me may not strike your fancy. I am inviting you to come along for two reasons: it may help you find what strikes your fancy, and your comments may help me fine tune what strikes my fancy.

Incidentally, I am not afraid that your accompanying me on this journey might give you an idea that may potentially make you more money than I make. Nor am I worried that someone who comes along may beat me to an idea. We are all capable of discovery. Usually we discover great ideas from within the person that we are. That means that each of us in our unique perspective can take pieces of ideas and make them into viable business ventures that meet our personal goals. So, I plan to have fun, and glean as much as possible from my research and your comments.

What got me interested in making money online was the fact that I have two relatives that are currently making an income via the internet. One is writing for a blog and the other is selling on Ebay. Neither of them boasts huge financial gains. But, for the time spent and the money made, the return on their investment is great. My thoughts are, "I can do both!"

I read a book called The Cashflow Quadrant. This is a great book. It helps you understand what category of income production you are in and shows you where you want to be. One principle that sticks out in my mind is that of "multiple streams of income." Simply put, I want to develop multiple ways of producing income (some large, some small). I also want some (if not all) of these to work for me even when I am not working--whether vacationing, sleeping, enjoying my family, doing a hobby, etc., etc. The most accessible, least expensive, and quickest way to accomplish multiple streams of income is the internet. More next post.
